343,409. Coils for dynamo - electric machines. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP ELEKTROTECHNISCHE INDUSTRIE VOORHEEN W. SMIT & CO., Slikkerveer, near Rotterdam, Holland. June 2, 1930, No. 17009. Convention date, June 26, 1929. [Class 35.] A formed edgewise strip winding for a dynamo electric machine pole which is made in one piece with the yoke and polepiece is applied as shown in Fig. 1 by temporarily deforming the flat sides without effecting a permanent distortion of the bends 2, 3. The turns which may be insulated prior to or after mounting on the pole core are compressed and secured by a U-shaped strip 6, Fig. 2, placed beneath the windings 5 and held by screws 8 on a straight strip 7. The turns may be pressed together by forcing wedges under the strip 6.
