Abstract
257,029. Fletcher, F. P. May 21, 1925. Field magnets, cooling. - In dynamo-electric machines with salient poles, the pole windings have U- shaped plates inserted for cooling purposes during the building up of the coil, the winding passing from side to side of the plates through gaps therein. As shown, the limbs a and base of the plates have depending flanges b around which the winding passes across the opening c. The plates may be ribbed, and in a modification, they are bent over outside the coil where they are brazed to a water jacket.
