Cigarette-making machines. - In a cutting-off mechanism for continuous-rod machines, the shaft 24 of the blade 25 is mounted in spherical bearings 24<a>, 24<b>, in discs 18, 20 carried by shafts 17, 19 parallel to but not in alignment with each other and inclined to the axis of the cigaretterod. The vertical driving shaft 37 carries an eccentric by which the slotted tubular guide for the cigarette-rod is reciprocated. A grinding disc 58 is adjusted by the thumb nut 63.
