[Class 80 (iii)] [See also Group II] Driving mechanism for vibratory sieves comprises a shaft a connected to the sieve b by eccentric &c. rods d, the bearings e of the shaft being mounted so that they can alternatively be fixed or allowed regulatable transverse movement between adjustable stops h, i for the purpose of providing a gradual starting and stopping movement. In the arrangement described, the stops are provided with rubber buffers k, and the stop h is fixed while the stop i is adjusted through screwed spindles m co-acting through bevel wheels n with a shaft o and hand wheel p. The shaft bearings e may be supported in guides on pivoted arms. Specification 171,349, [Class 80 (iii)], is referred to.
