[Class 60] A lapping-machine for flat or cylindrical work-pieces comprises two lapping discs a, b, of which the lower disc a is driven, whilst the upper is driven either at a different speed or in the opposite direction, or is free to rotate or may be braked, and between the discs is situated a work-holder c provided with openings d for the work pieces. The holder is moved round bodily by an adjustable-throw crank-pin h on a shaft within the hollow shaft of the lapping- disc a, and in order that all parts of the holder may perform the same motion, two parallel links i are pivoted at one end to brackets k on the holder, and at the other end by ball joints on adjustable parts p to levers m connected to a shaft n; the holder is supported by the crank-pin h and also by adjustable plates q. Adjustment of the parts p and of the height of the plates q allows of the treatment of work of different thicknesses.
