Cigarette-making machines.-A continuous-rod machine in which the cigarette rod is cut by a fly-cutter following the axial movement of the rod consists of two parallel shafts 1, 1<a> driven by wheels 2, 2a and carrying crank pins 15, 15<a> adjustable as to throw, for different lengths of rod, by slides 4, 4a. The pins carry a frame 16 in which is mounted the cutter 11 on a shaft 16<a>, which is driven by bevel gears 8, 9 from the crank-pin 15<a>.
