Abstract

Sawing and like cutting.-Stone or the like is cut by an abrasive wheel a mounted on a rotating shaft B, the axis of which is caused to move by means of an eccentric sleeve C which surrounds the shaft B and is rotated therefrom, at a different speed, by belt gearing f. Stepped cones may be used to vary the relative speed, and the sleeve C may be made the full length of the shaft B, with ball bearings at both ends. If desired the sleeve C may be left to creep round by friction.
