Abstract

336,986. Aeberli, A. June 17, 1929. Rollers and roller heads.-In drawing-mechanism for mules and ring spinning machines, rollers 13, 14, Fig. 1, carrying a belt 16 co-operating with a lower roller 17 are mounted in a framework adjustably mounted in the head to vary the contact of the belt with the roller 17 and its distance from the front rollers, and a cleaning roller 21 loosely supported in the framework rests freely on the upper run of the belt. The roller 14 is provided with a central loose sleeve which bears on a plain portion of the bottom roller and serves to prevent the roller 14 exerting too great a pressure on the band and impeding its movement. The framework comprises end plates 1 connected by adjustable telescopic rods, and is adjusted by means of a screw 5. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 5, the framework is provided with screws 25 bearing on the cap bars so as to adjust the run of the belt and so vary the path of the roving, and, the roller 13 is mounted in inclined slots 28, of which one is longer than the other to facilitate removal; a small guide roller 30 being also carried in the slots.
