Abstract

327,475. Mihßly, D. von. Jan. 14,1929. Thermionic amplifiers; thermionic. relays.-In an amplifier for photo-electric currents for use in television or copying-telegraphy or in connection with talking-films or measuring light, a photoelectric cell a, Fig. 1, and its battery c are connected in series in the grid circuit of a thermionic valve b and are shunted by a grid leak f having a resistance of the same order as that of the cell, namely, between 30 and 200 megohms. The iron core r, Fig. 2, of an output transformer is magnetized to the saturation point by the normal current flowing through the secondary winding o from a battery p in series with a light relay q. The resistance of the secondary winding is of the same order as that of the light relay.
