Thermionic amplifiers.-An amplifying circuit includes an inter-stage coupling transformer 15, the primary winding 11 of which is connected between the filament 6 of a valve A and the low-tension battery 14. The primary winding consists of two parallel wires 12, 13 connecting the ends of the filament to the respective poles of the battery in such a way that the filament current flows through the two wires in opposite directions. The inductively coupled secondary winding 16 is connected in the grid circuit of the next valve B. The plate. 5 of the valve A is connected to the high-tension battery 10 by non-inductive wires 8, 9. The transformer may be replaced by an autotransformer similar to that shown at 2.
