Abstract

389,970. Valve amplifying circuits. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, and ESPLEY, D. C., c/o General Electric Co., Wembley, Middlesex. Feb. 19, 1932, No. 5025. [Class 40 (v).] In a trigger relay circuit of the kind described in Specification 148,582, [Class 40 (iv), Telephones &c.], in which the output is independent of the input so long as this is above a critical value, the connection between the mutually.. reinforcing elements is inductive. The Figure shows valves VI, V2 arranged as anode-bend and leaky-grid detectors, respectively, and coupled by condenser C1 so that a signal applied to V1 is caused to change the grid bias of this valve due to change in the anode current of V2. The arrangement is completely self restoring since the signal is passed from valve V1 to valve V2 mainly by the signal frequency and not with the carrier frequency. Other forms of rectifiers and amplifiers may be used and a transformer coupling may be used instead of a capacitative coupling.
