Abstract
362,504. Valve amplifying circuits. REVELATION PATENTS HOLDING CO., Du Pont Building, Wilmington, Delaware, U.S.A. Sept. 5, 1930, No. 26616. Convention date, Sept. 21, 1929. [Class 40 (v).] To prevent distortion due to grid current, two valves are arranged in cascade, one valve 22 having its grid-cathode path 23, 24 in series with the gridcathode or input circuit 21, 20 of the main amplifying valve 17. The secondary winding 12 of the input transformer is connected across the grid 23 of the auxiliary valve 22 and the cathode 20 of the main amplifier, whilst the grid of the latter is directly connected through a lead 24<1> to the cathode of the former. The arrangement enables the valve 22 to operate with a negative grid-bias without using any external biasing voltage, whilst the main amplifying valve 17 is capable of working without distortion even when it carries a positive voltage on the grid.
