Abstract

320,792. Holladay, A. J. Nov. 6, 1928. Cooking-utensils; lamps. -A toy cooking-stove has an electric lamp or lamps to represent the burner or burners or fire. The hot plate 3 is mounted in a frame 2 and is provided with openings 8 covered with a coloured transparent material 9 to represent burners. Between the oven 1 and the hot plate 3 is positioned a plate 6 having a reflecting surface on its top side. An electric bulb 10 lit from a battery 12 through the wiring 17 reflects light from the plate 6 through the openings 8, and transmits light through the holes 13, 14, to give the effect of burners alight. In a modification shown in Fig. 5, a separate lamp is employed for each burner and a separate lamp for the oven. Rings of studs 22 surround the recesses 21 for the lamps 10<a> so that a gap is left between the bottom of the utensil and the hot plate 3 through which rays of light can pass to give the effect of a burner. A strip 23 having a series of holes 24 along its length and having behind it one or more lamps 10<b> gives the appearance of a row of burners in the oven 1.
