Abstract

271,189. Erskine, J., Middleton, J., and Falkirk Iron Co., Ltd. March 8, 1926. Electric radiators. - An imitation fire comprises a screen steadily illuminated by an adjacent source of light, and one or more radiometers, the rotation of which causes a varying illumination giving a flicker effect through the screen. The imitation fire shown comprises an arched member 11 of coloured glass, carrying imitation fuel 12, beneath which is a lamp 13, one or more radiometers 10, and a rear reflector 15. The lamp 13, in conjunction with a reflector 14 beneath it, illuminates the whole surface of the imitation fuel, and at the same time causes the radiometer vanes to rotate, thereby causing a flicker effect owing to the varying illumination of the reflector 15. A resistance heating element 5 is supported behind the top front portion 4 of the stove, and beneath it is a curved reflector 16. The top of the trivet 3 may also form a reflector.
