Abstract

Gas stoves and fires; imitation fires.-A gas stove comprises a cast metal body 1 with integral walls on all sides and with cooling fins 2, an inclined reflector 6 extending from the rear wall to a point some distance below the front wall, and one or more gas pipes 9 passing through the rear wall and each carrying a mantle approximately at the level of, or just below, the lower edge of the front wall. In the form shown in Fig. 1 a coloured glass or mica screen is held in front of the mantles by pivoted links 15, so that it may be swung clear of the mantles. A perforated shield 18 is arranged in front of each mantle. In the modification shown in Fig. 4, glass or like imitation fuel is carried by a grid-like carrier 17 supported by links 15, and is illuminated by the flickering light of a flat-flame burner 11.
