Abstract
473,182. Reflector stoves. ROSS, F. A. Feb. 9, 1937, No. 4323/36. [Classes 39 (iii) and 126] In a radiator comprising a source a of radiant heat mounted in front of and substantially at the focus of a concave reflector b, and a light source c mounted behind the reflector b, the light from the source c being visible from the front through a plurality of apertures or breaks in the reflector, the arrangement is such that the light does not fall directly on the heat source a. The reflector may be composed of perforated sheet-metal, Fig. 2, spaced metal strips b<2>, Fig. 5, spaced metal rings forming a bowl, or heat-proof glass or quartz silvered over selected areas. The casing d behind the reflector may have a white or reflecting surface, and with the reflector may form a passage to heat air. An auxiliary heater may be arranged in this passage. There may be more than one heat source a. This source may use electricity, gas, or oil.
