[Classes 39 (iii) and 126] A gas, oil, spirit, or electric radiator of the type having a casing A with cold air inlets below and warm air outlets above and containing one or more heating elements A' is provided with a transparent or semi-transparent illuminated panel C in one or more walls of the casing, perforations a<3>, louvres or the like in a wall not containing an illuminated panel, and a vertical baffle B dividing the casing into two chambers, one containing the heating element or elements only and the other containing only the elements for illuminating the panel C, the baffle screening the heating element or elements from view. The panel is lit by lamps c with associated mirrors c<1> and the front surface of the baffle B is reflecting. The panel may represent a coal fire, or may comprise two thicknesses of heat resisting glass the interior surface of one or each of the components being decorated; or two plates may enclose a decorated sheet. The design may be the sun, moon and stars, or flames, or lettering or advertisement. The rear wall of the casing may be formed as a grille the ribs of which are wider on the inside than on the outside of the wall. The top d<2> may be integral with the front or rear wall to facilitate removal. In another form, the radiator is triangular, with panels C in one or two walls and the third wall perforated. The baffle is a central, perforated cylinder, enclosing the heating element or elements. The casing may be detachable from the base, or fixed to it and provided with hinged doors. A water boiler and radiators may be placed inside the heating chamber behind the baffle B.
