[Classes 39 (iii) and 126] A stove casing A comprises two end compartments A' to be used as heating and /or lighting chambers, or, as shown, containing smaller lighting and /or heating chambers D<2>, and a central section which houses a recessed imitation fire consisting of a semi-transparent imitation fire-panel A<1>, a light transmitting reflector B<2> below it, and a reflecting backplate B<3> above it, the plate B<3> being inclined to the panel A<1> at an angle of less than 90‹. Electric heaters A<2> and lamps b<9> with associated reflectors a', or gas or oil heaters and illuminants, may be provided in the chambers D<2>. The latter may be connected at the top by a horizontal tubular part. The reflector B<2> may be silvered or made of highly polished coloured glass through which some light passes onto the floor or hearth-plate below the stove. When oil fuel is used, the reservoir may form the base of the stove. To moisten the air a water-tank may be provided at the back. The casing A may be detachable from the base, or may have side doors. The heating devices in the chambers D<2> may be dispensed with, and an additional air-heating chamber provided behind the imitation fire apparatus. A hot-water radiator may be placed in the rear compartment or between two imitation fire apparatuses. Two, three, or four such apparatuses may be grouped around an airheating chamber.
