[Class 126.] A portable heating-stove comprises a rear chamber A, closed on all sides but open at top and bottom for the passage of air, and containing gas or oil burners, together with a " cold " chamber at the front, which chamber is bounded in front by an imitation fire panel D extending downwardly and forwardly from the front of the chamber A, at the rear by the front of the heating chamber, in which is a transparent window a<2> of heat-insulating substance, and at the bottom by the base C of the stove. The fire-panel D may be transparent or an opaque panel having apertures or transparent parts for the passage of light passing through the window a<2> from the burners in the rear chamber. Oil or gas burners may be used, and non-luminous heating burners with separate illuminating or incandescent mantel burners may be employed. In the stove shown in Fig. 4 heating burners with radiants B<1> and illuminating burners with mantels B<2> are used. The front wall of the heating-chamber is enlarged to form a heat-accumulating wall a<3>, and a supplementary air-heating flue A<2> extends over the back and top of the chamber.
