Abstract
210,968. Berry, H. H. Jan. 25, 1923. Imitation fires; gas heating-stoves; canopies; reflectors.-An imitation fire, of the kind comprising a grate a containing " fuel " and one or more electric lamps b with flicker-producing devices c, is provided with a reflector e positioned above the fire and having its lower part projecting forwardly, together with a heating-element f so arranged that the heat from it is thrown forward'y into the room by the reflector. In the arrangement shown the reflector is in the form of a canopy, and the heating element is hidden behind the frieze or equivalent of the mantel-piece. A flame effect is produced in a reflector d by the flicker devices, to increase which a perforated plate or coloured screen may be arranged at the back of the fire. The light-refIector d may be extended, or, as shown in Fig. 6, a separate reflector l may be provided in order to reflect heat from a second heating element k. Specification 186,234 is referred to.
