Abstract

440,839. Electric stoves. ELLWOOD, E., 8, Chester Gardens, Argyle Road, West Ealing, London. Oct. 24, 1934, No. 30485. [Class 39 (iii)] An electric fire comprises heating elements 9 adapted to glow, a source of light 10, and reflectors 6 which are adapted to cause a glow due to the source of light which appears to be due to the heating elements although the latter may be inoperative. The lamp 10 is placed in a box 1 with reflecting surfaces and light therefrom passes through slots 8 in the reflectors. This light illuminates the back of the heating elements 9 and produces a glow in the reflector similar to that produced when the heating element is operating. The supporting frames 2, 3, and 4 of the heater are spaced by distance pieces 5 so that a glow from the lamp may also be thrown on the edges of these frames.
