Abstract

395,838. Gas fires; imitation fires. STOVES, Ltd. and RICHARDSON, W. H., Rainhill, near Liverpool. May 14, 1932, No. 13928. [Class 126.] A gas burner 36 actuating the flicker device 19 of an imitation fire is carried by a pivoted gas pipe 34 so that it may be moved out to the front of the fire for ignition or removal, or, as shown, for temporary replacement by a boiling burner 37, which is used in front of the fire, and which may be of the kind described in Specification 397,618. In the stove shown the front or "fender " 24 is hinged at one side and connected by a link (not shown) to the pipe 34, so that on opening the front the burner is drawn out at the same time. The fire shown comprises a space 11 with front bars 18 containing radiants and imitation coal heated by a burner 30. The light from the burner 36 passes through a sheet 15 of embossed glass or the like on to a forwardly-curved reflecting back 14.
