Operating doors by cord arrangements.-Sliding doors for aircraft shelters &c. which are approximately the full width of the building are guided by pins and rollers &c. engaging channel guides 7, 17 by which the door 15 is guided upwardly and rearwardly into an open position, shown in dotted lines in Fig. 4, projecting outwardly over the opening beneath the panel 9. The door is raised by a hoisting gear 30 - - 33 and a number of cables 25 connected at about the vertical centre to the door and passing over the rear guide pulleys to counterweights 26.
