Disc-engine and inclined-shaft type; balancing moving parts; packing.-In a rotary pump having two discs d, h on inclined shafts c, g with a diametrally extending piston vane k connecting the two discs and with the outer surface of one or both discs exposed to the delivery pressure to reduce the end thrust, the fluid is admitted to the working chamber by means of a segmental channel b<1> in one end cover and ports in one of the discs. The other end cover, Fig. 16, is formed with two segmental channels, one tr<11>, situated opposite the inlet channel b<1> being open to the suction by a conduit s<2> and the other tr<1> being open to the delivery pressure for balancing the end thrust without imposing bending strain on the shafts c, g. A liquid containing pocket is situated in the wall v between the suction and pressure openings s, t from which sealing liquid is circulated and also fed to a groove y in the bushing l of the shaft c.
