695,752. Rotary pumps. BORG-WARNER CORPORATION. May 31, 1951 [June 15, 1950], No. 12869/51. Class 11O(ii) In a gear or other type rotary pump sealing means comprise pressure-loaded end bushes 16, 17, each having .oppositely-arranged eccentric surfaces 26, 30 which are subjected respectively to the discharge and inlet pressures of the pump. Inlet and outlet ports 18, 19 communicate with the pump- :ng chamber containing gears 8, 9. Fluid under discharge pressure passes along a duct 20 to act on the surface 26. Leakage fluid past seals 24, 34 flows into a chamber 21 to the pump inlet side. Offset areas 30,.31 of each bush 16, 17 are subjected to inlet pressure by means of ducts 32, 33.
