Gas producer plant.-A steam boiler e, Fig. 1, is fired by gas from one or more continuously operating gas generators a adapted to pass the whole or part of the gas to the boiler furnace through the valve-controlled pipe d or to other furnaces, after purification, through a valve-controlled pipe g. A jacket b communicates with the boiler through a pipe i. In the modification shown in Fig. 2, the gas from the generator passes through a dust separator k in which is arranged a bank of tubes m communicating with the jacket b and heated by 'the sensible heat of the gas. When several water-gas generators are employed in addition to the continuously operating generator described above, the boiler may be heated by the blast gases only which are led from each water gas generator in turn. The continuously operating generator may be used to supply gas to the boiler furnace during the gap which occurs in the supply of blast gases from different water gas generators. It is preferred that the blast gases from the water gas generators are led over the fuel in a continuously operating generator.
