Abstract
211,537. Kirke, P. St. G. Oct. 25, 1922. Producer plant. - The blow gas from two or more water-gas generators operated in succession is passed through a steam boiler, preferably of the kind described in Specification 140,851, [Class 123 (ii), Steam generators]. The blow gas is drawn from a flue b through a boiler a by a fan c, which delivers it to a chimney d. The stack valve f of each generator g is enclosed by a casing h having a balanced non-return valve l and connected by a passage i with the flue b. During the blow, the valve f is open and the blow gas passes into the flue b and is burned therein with air. Excess of blow gas escapes through the valve l into a chimney k. During the run, the valve f is closed and the water gas passes away through a pipe m. The sensible heat of the run gas may be used for superheating the steam generated, or for heating feed water for the boiler.
