Evaporative efficiency, increasing; ; superheating steam in boiler.-Relates to means for increasing the evaporative efficiency of the boiler and for superheating the steam, of the kind described in Specification No. 20,706, A.D. 1904. Air which has been heated in pipes in the furnace flue is forced through perforated tubes in the water and steam spaces. A stream of compressed air is passed through heating-chambers 7, 8, placed in the furnace flues and enters a perforated tube 10, from which some of the air escapes into the boiler. The remainder is re-heated in a second beater 12, and is returned through a tube 13 to the boiler. In the apparatus shown, the air is returned through a coiled perforated open-ended tube 14 encircling the generator flue tubes 2.
