Abstract

295,285. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Brand, F. F.). Aug. 8, 1927, [Convention date]. Transformers.-To render easy the making of tests on the insulation of a cable 16 entering an electrical apparatus such as an oilimmersed transformer 11 through a pothead 10, a switch 13 for disconnecting the cable is arranged in the pothead. The switch 13 is operated by longitudinal movement of a rod 18 to the end of which is detachably secured, as by a screw thread arrangement, a handle 22 comprising a conducting rod surrounded by insulating material. A terminal 23 on the conducting rod enables electrical connection to be readily made, through the rod 18 and switch arm 13, with the cable. A cap (not shown) may be secured over the end of the insulating bushing 20 supporting the rod 18, when the handle 22 is detached.
