Abstract

601,215. Hand contact appliances. ELECTRIC TRANSMISSION, Ltd., DANNENBERG. K., and HOSKING, O. H. April 26, 1944, No. 7833. [Class 38 (i)] A manual earthing device for a line conductor or electrical apparatus consists of a pole of two runs coupled together, the lower run being formed by two tubular non-conducting spars joined together by a ceramic insulator, and the upper comprises a current limiting fuse 4 screwed to a tubular non- conducting spar 5. A conducting prong 27 or a hook screws into the top of the spar or into its side and is connected by a conductor 24 to the fuse. A flexible earth lead 14 is connected to the lower end of the fuse, e.g. of an indicating type such as is described in Specification 481,299, and having its ends of different shapes so that it can only be inserted in one position. The rupture of the fuse may give an audible alarm or operate a flag.
