Abstract
1510993 Cutting electrodes SIEMENS AG 21 May 1975 [14 June 1974] 22001/75 Heading A5R A bipolar cutting electrode for surgery, comprises at least three particularly four, metal cutting pins 1-4 set in an elongate, flat, glass body 5 with their ends projecting from the rounded free end of body 5 in spaced relationship, adjacent cutting ends being offset longitudinally so that the cutting ends lie in an arcuate path. Pins 1 and 3 are connected to part 6 of a coaxial plug protruding from the electrode for connection to one pole of a highfrequency electricity source, and pins 2 and 4 are connected to a part 7 of said plug for connection to the other pole of the source whereby, in use, a high - frequency field exists between adjacent pins. The electrode includes an insulating silicone rubber casing 8.
