Abstract

632,235. Electric heating resistances. SLETNER, P. G. May 8, 1947, No. 12475. Convention date, May 15, 1942. [Class 39 (iii)] A continuous electric heating cable comprises two or more spaced apart current conductors 1 surrounded by semiconducting material 2, the whole being enclosed in a sheath of insulation 3 and an outer sheath of lead 4. If desired the current conductors may be divided into branches spaced from each other and electrically connected in parallel. The semi-conducting material may be subjected to a mechanical or a chemical operation to adjust its conductivity to a desired value. The cable is suitable for heating rooms and for drying purposes.
