Abstract

Compound engines.-The condensate from the heating coils 19 of a superheater 14 between the stages 11, 12 of an engine is led through a throttle valve or trap 20 into the low pressure drum 22 of a compound boiler. Steam is generated in the high-pressure drum 1 of the compound boiler by the circulation nf a hot medium heated in tubes 3 around the furnace. The condensate may be led into the boiler feed heater.
