Piston packing.-A packing- ring B for the piston of a Diesel engine, which has lateral clearance in its groove in order to allow for expansion, is recessed to receive a split sealing ring C of triangular section. The outward pressure of the ring B can be adjusted by varying the width of the flange J, thus varying the area exposed to outwardly-acting fluid pressure.
