Abstract

282,395. Karolus, A. Dec. 14, 1926, [Convention date]. Oscillating machines; motors with unwound iron armatures.-A tuning. fork generator 1 is maintained in vibration by a coil 4 connected in the anode circuit of a thermionic valve 3, the grid of which receives the generated impulses of current. An alloy having self-compensating thermal properties may be used as the material for the fork. The generator forms part of an arrangement for maintaining constant speed of an electric motor 12. The motor 12 is mechanically coupled to a phonic wheel type of motor 10, the magnet coils 7, 8 of which are energized by timed periodic impulses of current derived from the tuning-fork generator.
