Abstract
473,537. Magnetos. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES. Feb. 10, 1936, No. 4016. Convention date, Feb. 11, 1935. Drawings to Specification. [Class 35] Exciting.-The greater part of the excitation of an alternating current generator is provided by a permanent magnet rotor, but means are provided for supplementing this automatically so as to maintain the terminal voltage in spite of the demagnetizing effect of the armature reaction, or to increase the terminal voltage when the generator is loaded. This is effected either (a) by means of a winding on the rotor supplied with direct current, the direction of which can be automatically reversed if necessary under conditions discussed in the Specification, or (b) by means of adjustable wattless current apparatus in the stator circuit, such as condensers, which may be combined with adjustable chokes. The rotor may be provided with damping windings to check demagnetization.
