Abstract
466,834. Exciting dynamo - electric machines. PESTARINI, G. M. Feb. 20, 1936, No. 5205. [Class 35] In a motor-generator or motor booster set, the motor field winding is energized by a constant current exciter excited partly or wholly in proportion to the generator current and the constant current generator exciter is excited in proportion to the motor current. In the form shown, the motor exciter 4 has coils 7, 8 excited by the generator and motor load currents respectively and a winding 9 excited by the battery 10 whilst the generator exciter 6 has coils 11, 12 in series with the motor M and generator G respectively whilst winding 13 is energized by the resultant voltage of machine 14 and battery 10, which resultant is zero at the normal speed. The motor exciter may also have a fourth exciting winding 18 connected in parallel with the generator. In a modification, the generator is not connected to the motor supply to act as a booster but is in a closed circuit with the load and exciter field windings.
