353,893. Automatic regulation; transmitting mechanical power. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London, and TAYLOR, H. W., Kilmorie, Old Bilton, Rugby. March 22, 1930, No. 9248. [Class 38 (iv).] Dynamo-electric machines subject to fluctuation of speed and load, such as in a ship propulsion system employing one or more generators A and one or more synchronous motors B, are automatically regulated in excitation by a vibratory regulator comprising a contact arm C controlled by two coils F, G in opposition, one coil F being subject to the current taken or given by a machine and the other G energized in accordance with the speed of one of the machines. A generator U driven from one machine may supply the circuit of the coil G. The field of a single machine may be so controlled.
