Alternating-current commutator and induction machines.-In an induction machine of the type described in the parent Specification in which phase compensation is obtained by means of a commutator winding provided on the rotor and connected through the commutator and slip-rings with the main rotor winding, the commutator winding is arranged in channels x located on a smaller radius than the slots r containing the main rotor winding y, so that a part s<1> of the flux generated by the commutator winding completes its circuit within the rotor iron.
