Alternating-current motors; cores. - In an induction motor having two squirrelcage windings, the starting winding of high resistance and small reactance is disposed in slots b, Fig. 2, near the periphery of the rotor, and the working winding of small resistance and high reactance is disposed in partially-open slots a, which are fewer in number and are located at a greater distance from the periphery of the rotor than the slots for the starting winding.
