Alternating-current motors; cores.-In the self-starting asynchronous motor of the parent Specification, the starting winding is dispensed with or the shortcircuiting rings only may be omitted in order to enable the motor to start gently and the displaceable iron bars d serve to interrupt gradually the magnetic circuit above the short-circuited bars c at the bottom of the slots a. In order to prevent the iron bars from flying too far outwards or from changing their position in the enlarged upper parts of the slots, guide plates having slots shaped as shown at b are provided at intervals between the rotor laminations.
