Abstract
330,790. Naamlooze Vennootschap Hengelosche Electrische en Mechanische Apparatenfabriek, and Klinkhamer, H. A. W., Oct. 10, 1928, [Convention date]. Addition to 294,563 and 807,329. Alternating - current induction machines; motors, controlling.-Each phase of the stator winding of the motor described in the parent Specification 294,563 is in two permanentlyconnected parts arranged out of phase with each other, and the number of starting-steps is increased by connecting the common point of the two parts of any one phase to one end of the next phase at one starting-step and to one end of the preceeding phase at another step. The Figures show a series of steps for a winding, each phase of which is in two parts ab, bc. In the connection shown in Fig. 3, each point b is connected to a point c of the next phase, whereas in Fig. 4 a point b is connected to a point c of the preceeding phase. Also, in Fig. 6, each point b is connected to the point a of the preceeding phase, and in Fig. 7 to the point a of the next phase. In order to avoid field harmonics which would arise with the connection according to Fig. 5, if the short winding branch were located in one slot per phase band, a double-layer winding having a shortened coil width as described in parent Specification 307,329 may be employed.
