[Class 35.] The short-circuited rotor of a polyphase motor is located between two stator members, one of which is angularly adjustable, and some of the phase windings are wound on one stator member and the remainder on the other. It is stated that the speed may be reduced by angularly moving one stator member. In the form shown, the winding of one phase is on the member A, and the adjustable member C carries windings for two other phases, B being the rotor. The three members may be in the form of discs arranged side by side instead of being concentric.
