280,657. Fairweather, H. G. C., (Allmõnna Svenska Elektriska Aktiebolaget). Aug. 30, 1926. Combined flow type; condensation water, collecting.- In a radial flow turbine having a final axial flow stage 2. the latter is divided by a guide ring 10 and the two annular passages iormed thereby are so proportioned that the issuing velocities of the two streams are proportional to the mean circumferential velocities of the parts of the running blades upon which they impinge. The ring 10 may extend to the rotating ring 13 and the latter mav be provided with a packing strip to cocperate with the edge of the ring 10. The radial flow stage may comprise oppositely running rotors or alternate rotory and stationary blade rings. Condensation water may be trapped in a recess 11, Fig. 2, and removed by a passage 12.
