Disc - supported - blade fans; impeller blades. - The rotor of a centrifugal compressor has a plurality of rings of blades b, c, d, arranged concentrically with an annular gap e, f between adjacent rings, of such width as to allow the streams of fluid from each ring to reunite, if eddy wedges are formed in any blade ring, before entering the next blade-ring. The blades of one ring may be in staggered relation to those of the adjacent ring.
