624,777. Turbine & compressor stators. POWER JETS (RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT), Ltd., and ROESCH, G. H. Nov. 11, 1946, No. 33430. [Classes 110(i) and 110(iii)] The stator of an axial-flow air compressor, or elasticfluid turbine is composed of a number of individual rings between which the roots of the stator bladings are clamped. The adjacent faces of the rings 10 may be provided with annular recesses 11 to receive flanged roots 13a. The bolting flange 10a of one ring may have an extension 10c overlying the flange 10b of the other ring. Other forms of root may be used. The blades may be cut from a pre-formed bar and root pieces cast about them. Several blades may be united by a segmented root piece. Specification 608,514 is referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 608,514.
