586,838. Gas turbines. NEWTON, E. P. (Turbo Engineering Corporation). June 16, 1943, No. 9710. [Class 110 (iii)] The cooling-air passages 8 in gas turbine rotors as described in Specification 520,045 are arranged to deliver their streams of air through openings 10 on to the trailing surface of the turbine blades 4. In an alternative form, cavities 22 in the turbine blades 18 receive air radially from. a hollow shaft and discharge it through slits 24.
