Abstract

1491556 Turbomachine blades MOTORENUND TURBINEN-UNION MUNCHEN GmbH 23 Jan 1975 [2 Feb 1974] 3005/75 Heading FIT To increase the length of the leakage flow-path 17 between the tip of a compressor or turbine rotor blade 13 and the stationary casing, the end of each blade is provided with a tip plate, the under edges of which are bevelled. The plate may be of approximately aerofoil shape, extending to both sides of the blade by equal or unequal amounts, or may extend to one side only of the blade. Air cooling passages may extend along the blade length and discharge at the radially outer surface of the tip plate.
