609,322. Axial-flow compressors and turbines. POWER JETS (RESEARCH & DEVELOPMENT), Ltd., and CONSTANT, H. Nov. 7, 1945, No. 29746. [Classes 110 (i) and 110 (iii)] A blade system for an axial-flow compressor, turbine &c. has radially inner and outer regions 1, 2 separated by the provision of shrouding 3 between them, the blades in the inner region 1 having higher camber, smaller exit angles, and numerically smaller stagger than those in the outer region 2. The inner and outer regions may be designed as independent blades thus causing an appreciable pressure difference as between one side of the shrouding and the other.
