Abstract

537,121. Elastic-fluid turbines. ALLIS-CHALMERS MANUFACTURING CO. Dec. 7, 1939, No. 31716. Convention date; Feb. 23. [Class 110 (iii)] Each blade element comprises the central portions 7, 9 of the surface of one blade passage and the end portions 11 of the adjacent blade passage. The elements have plane contacting surfaces 12, 13. The passages are closed by pieces 16. The elements are fitted in axially disposed grooves in the rotor and are retained by segmented rings. When two rows of blades are used they are axially separated by blocks. Sealing surfaces 20 are provided on the elements.
